A massive fire broke out at Dublin Airport that forced airport authorities to suspend all flights.

The fire started at 7 a.m. local time, and developed into something bigger. The fire crews of the airport together with Dublin firefighters have joined forces to put the fire out, Metro UK reported.

Dublin Airport also announced that they were able to control the fire.

Other planes are still monitoring the area for further inspection. The passengers with scheduled flights have been advised to monitor their airline regarding changes in flight information even before arriving in the airport.

Air traffic controllers continue to prepare for the clearing of backlogs before 9 a.m., according to Telegraph UK.

The fire started from hangar three where two small planes, also known as Whisper jets, were in place at the time. One of the two was believed to be under the operation of CityJet. There were no injuries reported.

"The fire is in a hangar in a restricted area of the airport, which is separate from the passenger facilities," according to a Dublin Airport spokeswoman. "All flight operations were suspended because all emergency services have been brought to fight the fire and as a result if something happens on the airfield the fire cover is not available. This is a standard procedure."

Dublin Airport stated that the "fire crew (has) a response time of less than 3 minutes."

Flight operations at Dublin Airport resumed an hour after the fire broke out, Irish Times reported.
